If you follow this story you’ll learn how our Federal Government has just approved the expansion of the Brisbane Airport. BIG DEAL you may say.
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but didn't Kevin Rudd spend 10 years fighting a second runway at the Brisbane Airport? In fact he started his run way campaign 10 seconds after moving to Norman Park which was 20 seconds before he announced a run for Griffith. He blamed the Conservative parties for allowing a second run way to go ahead.
Kevin threw a tantrum because those pesky planes kept him awake and grumpy at night, besides they interrupted his phone calls to Beijing.
Kevin was so ticked off at the thought of a second run way making noise he even spent money taking the matter to the Planning and Environment Court. He lost, and had costs awarded against him.
Then Kevin held a fundraiser to pay the court cost debt off and invited John Grant and his ute along, but we won’t go there.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not opposed to the expansion of the Airport, I haven’t really looked into it. I know Brisbane Council has some town planning concerns, but that’s the extent of my knowledge.
What gets me is the duplicity of this Prime Minister. Does he really stand for anything or is he a big flake? Oh silly me, he now lives in Canberra with a no fly zone over his house. He’s never to return to Brisbane after Julia Gillard PM appoints him to a post in DC replacing Kim or to Brussels replacing Brendan.
The maths is simple; Kevin Rudd has the opportunity to turn the second runway down, but goes to water when the reality of running the country kicks in. For poor suffering residents Kevin once represented, it seems your plight is now in the same basket as those holding their breath for fuel watch, grocery watch, people that believed Kevin was a ‘economic conservative’, and the ‘education revolution’.
Looks like we’ve all had an ‘education’ watching this Prime Ministership unfold.
