Today Cr Hajnal Ban, a Local Government councillor for 5 years and former candidate for the seat of Forde at the 2007 election has today announced she will seek LNP pre-selection for the newly created Federal seat of Wright.
Cr Ban lives in Wright, has campaigned there federally before and her entire Council division is in the new seat.
“While Kevin Rudd talks about stimulating the economy, regional and rural Queensland has been left behind by Labor,
“Unemployment has crept up higher in Regional areas because all of the federal government’s debt intensive stimulus packages has been spent in the cities with little provided for regional infrastructure”, she said.
Logan Council’s recent record budget provided for significant infrastructure investment in Cr Ban’s division after she spent the last 12 months fighting hard for her residents. The infrastructure will be paid for without significant borrowings.
“It is time we have a strong voice for regional Queensland,
“I represent a fresh face for conservative politics across Australia and my record in local government speaks volumes for what I can achieve federally,” Cr Ban said.
