Many residents of the Logan City Council area would have received their rates notices over the last few days. 40% of people in the former Beaudesert area actually had a rates decrease and the majority of the rest only rose a few percent.

Former Beaudesert resident’s rates have been frozen while the rest of Logan catches up to their rating level. A rates freeze is an incredible achievement for any local government. I am fighting hard for residents of my area to ensure their voice is heard.

I would have preferred to have rates at a lower level, but with 67 million dollars of capital investment across the former Beaudesert area, it’s a trade off.
